and warm clothing. Elderly men and mothers with small children
were among the people gratefully receiving our gift of warmth.

Samuels
Elementary School: The DTC office adopted a local
Denver Public School, Samuels
Elementary, for ongoing projects. Over
half of the students at Samuels qualify for free or reduced
lunch. As our state budget is squeezed, schools are able
to provide fewer and fewer of the supplies that students
need in school. H&Hers held a school supply drive and
took 15 mail crates full of supplies plus a few bags of
backpacks and other items to the school. There were enough
supplies for the school social worker to set up a supply
"store" where the students in need could go and
"shop" for the supplies that they need.
