Habitat for Humanity: In a unique partnership between Flatirons Habitat for Humanity and a private developer, Flatirons Habitat or Humanities is developing Wonderland Creek, a project of four, single-family homes that will provide four families with safe, decent, affordable housing.
Members of the Boulder office raised funds from snack bar sales that were used to sponsor a $2,500 “Peak Season Build Day.” In late May, a small but productive group helped to install insulation and roofing on a new home for a family left homeless after the Jamestown floods that included ADA-compliant ramps for a veteran coping with neuropathy in his feet and legs. In June, nine volunteers toiled in the hot sun on another new home for a family of four, who will be ecstatic to have more space than their current CU-Boulder two-bedroom apartment.
