With the ‘lunch money’ we buy items for local charitable organizations. In 2007 we gave money to Tumbleweed to purchase the expensive calculators ($89!) that high school math students need for class. Tumbleweed is an organization that helps runaway teens and their families through conflicts and crisis. We also bought Tumbleweed a very nice, used dining table and chairs to put in the kitchen used by the teens at the center. Other proceeds went to the high school Angel Fund. The Angel Fund is an organization that helps at-risk high school students purchase personal needs such as shoes and coats and maybe even rent a tux for a school dance. |
